The Journey of Anton Titov, ELEMENTIS Co-Founder Visionary and Chief Strategy Officer
Overview: Vision of ELEMENTIS is to inspire a global community united.
As Co-Founder Visionary and Chief Strategy Officer of ELEMENTIS, Anton Titov brings over 25 years of expertise in entrepreneurship and development in diverse regions of the world, along with an inherently collaborative approach to projects and an unrelenting passion for Innovation. His commitment to modern design and sustainability has been pivotal in pioneering new construction methods and energy efficiency for Southeast Asia’s tropical climate, redefining eco-friendly development in the region.
Anton’s open and supportive leadership style fosters a culture that values collaboration and respects all stakeholders, from founding partners to ground-level employees, reflecting a family-oriented approach to achieving ELEMENTIS’ mission of creating Wellness communities in harmony with Nature.
Persistence and Vision
His journey from Russia to co-founding ELEMENTIS is a testament to his unwavering belief in the power of persistence and vision. Growing up during a transformative period in Russia's history, as borders opened in the late 1980s Anton seized the opportunity to study English in the US when he was just 17 years old. After experiencing the deprivations of communism, he saw living overseas and learning English as the key to a better life. This early exposure to a drastically different culture and entrepreneurial opportunities ignited his ambition and strongly shaped his future endeavors. Anton's time in the US was not without challenges. Two months after arriving, determined for his wife to give birth in a decent American hospital, he faced significant challenges due to his student visa and lack of financial resources. After seeking the support of numerous hospitals and seemingly endless amounts of paperwork, his perseverance paid off when his daughter was born in one of San Francisco's best hospitals.
This experience proved to him that with determination and persistence, anything can be achieved, further fueling his resilience and adaptability. “Nothing is impossible—your vision will make it happen,” he says.
Deepening Determination
In 1995, Anton co-founded a company that exported a large variety of products, including prefabricated wooden houses to Russia, in which he actively participated in the construction process. “They were beautiful wooden homes, and we were the first to send these house packages to Russia, which was eagerly opening up to international goods after being closed for so long,” he explains.
Although the 1998 financial crisis forced him to cease operations, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to join his father’s wood harvesting business, managing the factory and construction projects by the age of 25. This instilled a passion for working with wood, and glued laminated timber (glulam) in particular, due to its strength, durability and precision. Appreciating its versatility, beauty and environmental benefits, Anton envisioned integrating glulam into modern architectural designs—a commitment reflected in ELEMENTIS' approach to sustainable construction.
A precursor to this innovative material, Anton is in awe of the traditional wooden joinery techniques that were used by the Japanese to construct houses, temples and shrines, some of which date back over 1,000 years. “What I admire most about traditional Japanese methods is their precision and respect for the wood,” he explains. “The intricate joinery techniques demonstrate unparalleled artisanship that stands the test of time while honoring the natural beauty and strength of the wood."
A Global Perspective
Living and working in many countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, and Indonesia, has profoundly shaped Anton's philosophy and leadership of ELEMENTIS. These diverse experiences have cultivated a deep appreciation for the importance of shared values, mutual respect, and harmonious collaboration.
Immersing himself in different cultures has taught Anton the importance of human connection, patience, and understanding various perspectives. This international exposure has reinforced a people-first work ethic, where the ideas and wellbeing of every team member are recognized and prioritized.
Anton’s philosophy for ELEMENTIS centers around these principles, emphasizing a collaborative approach that ensures everyone involved is aligned with the company’s vision and goals, fostering a supportive and harmonious environment. He emphasizes the importance of partners sharing the same philosophy and beliefs to ensure effective collaboration, while his decision-making process is guided by intuition, avoiding actions that cause tension or misunderstandings.
A Shared Vision
These are values shared by his co-founder, Andrey Skripachev, whom Anton met soon after arriving in Bali in 2018. Quickly recognizing that Andrey shared his determination and drive to create communities that are governed by respect for Nature, driven by Innovation, and embrace personalized Wellness, together they formed ELEMENTIS Development Group, along with several founding partners who also share this vision.
ELEMENTIS embodies partnership, trust, and mutual growth, and as Anton observes, the company is “only as strong as the relationships we build with our partners.” His vision for ELEMENTIS is clear: create innovative, Nature-immersed and Wellness-focused communities that offer personalized health solutions and sustainable living.
Reflecting on his journey from the challenges of growing up and navigating various industries to co-founding ELEMENTIS, Anton says, "Success goes beyond reaching the finish line; it's finding fulfillment and joy in each step of the journey while valuing the wellbeing of everyone involved." His leadership at ELEMENTIS exemplifies a commitment to Innovation, sustainability, and Community, driving the company forward as a pioneer in environmentally and socially conscious development.
